Jules McGregor is drawn to stories of being. Sometimes these are pictorial sometimes in word, but to her they are always visual. Her world is directed by the seen and unseen. Nature, space and light combine in narrative. Her influences are muliticultural having lived and studied in Scotland, Japan and the Southwest of England.
Her practice meanders paths of exploration, sometimes, but not exclusively, using the photographic medium. The immense capacity of drawing with light holds within itself a space to wonder. She is drawn to storytelling and a cultural reverence for it.
The Universe, the sun, our planet tell and retell stories. Energy, matter and emotion coexist in a symbiotic mystery. Science, faith and dreams reveal to her inpart their truth. Her universe is seen and unseen - physical and spiritual - known and unknown.
